Muse

This is an article based on research for your fiction. If you write historical fiction, send me an article about the time period your characters live in. Science fiction buff? Send me the research into the new technology that inspired your novel. Do you write poetry about fairies? Send me your background research. Make it fun and interesting. This is not a place for textbooks or college theses. No more than 2 000 words. Please don’t send pictures, but let me know if they are available.

Review

Send me a review of your favorite novel or collection. If you have a review (written by someone else) for your own novel, send that along, but make sure that the original reviewer allows reprints. No more than 1 000 words. Please don’t send pictures, but have a jpg ready of the cover. Also include a short bio of the author and the reviewer, as well as links to where the book can be purchased.

Interview

I’m looking for interviews with industry leaders: authors, publishers, editors, film makers. No more than 2 000 words. Please don’t send photos, but state if their availability in your cover letter.

Bookstore

Would you like to have your novel featured in an upcoming BTC Bookstore page? Send me the following info: Book title and author jpg photo of the book cover (please shrink it for web use), link to publisher, author’s website and purchase site, and a short blurb (50 words) describing the book. Your book will be included in an upcoming issue of BTC and stored in the archives. Your name will also be added to the authors’ link page.

General guidelines for all submissions:

Email submissions only to Betweenthecracks@verizon.net. Send a cover letter with your name and contact info. Attach your submission as a Word doc or .rtf. Please follow standard manuscript format: double space, 12 point Arial or Times New Roman font. Please don’t attach pictures, but state their availability in your cover letter. BTC is a non-paying market (except for the flash fiction contest), but I do provide an author bio. Reprints are accepted, but please give a nod to the original publisher.
