The Rites of Passage flash fiction contest has ended. And the winners are....

1st prize: J. M. Patrick with “Sail on, Silver Girl”

Runner up: Mark Terence Chapman with “Binky Merton Takes a Trip.”

As usual, the choices were eclectic. I had so many great entries this round, that I had a hard time choosing. In the end I am glad to present one fine literary piece (Sail on, Silver Girl) and one unique fantasy (Binky Merton Takes a Trip). Both stories used the prompt in unique ways and showed great characterization and turn of phrase. There were several other close thirds and I would like to thank everyone who played.

The BTC flash fiction contest will be on hiatus until fall 2008.
