Second Skin
Second Skin
This is an experiment. I offer you a novel in serialized form for your enjoyment. The kicker is that this novel is not yet written. I plan to write it as I go, no outline, no revisions once published. I offer my writing to you, warts and all. So here is the beginning of my newest novel Second Skin (inspired by the Bestiary about selkies).
I have imported the past episodes of “Second Skin” into a blog format and will continue to update in this way. BTC is a bimonthly digest, but I felt that this was too long an interval for a serial novel. With the blog, I will be able to add content in smaller bites and more frequently. Make sure you subscribe to get the latest episodes!
The story so far...
Thomas, a doctor with weak sea-legs, pays his yearly tribute to his dead mother. On the ship, he sees a vision of a lovely young woman in the waves. Carys sees Thomas’ gold medallion, and leaves the sea, sheds her selkie skin and goes to find him. After a sensational welcome at the local inn, Eamon appoints himself protector of this strange young woman. Carys tells him that she is looking for a man. Despite his growing affection for her, Eamon promises to help her find him. Eamon’s mother, Gwynn is not happy about her son’s compassion for this strange girl.
